Gandhi receives SPEC Distinguished Dissertation Award

Anshul Gandhi, PhD, Professor of Computer Science at Stony Brook University, recently received the 2013 SPEC Distinguished Dissertation Award for his thesis on Dynamic Server Provisioning for Data Center Power Management. 

In March 2014, Gandhi attended the 5th ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering in Dublin, Ireland, where he received the award.

As a student, Gandhi received a postdoctoral fellowship at IBM. From 2013-2014, Gandhi was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Cloud Optimization and Analytics group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

Gandhi’s energy-related research exemplifies scientific originality, practical relevance and impact. His goal is to improve system performance through analytical tools.
